Privacy policy
The short version: we collect what you send us, we use it to answer you, we track nothing else, and we never sell it.
Who we are
Apex Fire Safety Ltd ("Apex", "we") is a fire engineering and fire safety consultancy registered in England & Wales (company no. 16271651; registered office C/O Gardian Accounting Ltd, 4 Imperial Place, Maxwell Road, Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, WD6 1JN). For anything in this policy, contact enquiries@apexfiresafety.com or 07946 816614.
We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website.
What we collect, and why
If you use the contact form we collect what you type: your name, email address, and optionally an organisation, phone number, building or portfolio details, and your message. We use it for one purpose — understanding and responding to your enquiry, including preparing a scope and fee where you have asked for one.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (responding to people who contact us) and, where your enquiry leads towards an engagement, steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract.
Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical logs (IP address, pages requested, timestamps) for security and reliability. We do not use these to identify visitors.
Cookies and analytics
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers. There is nothing to consent to and no banner because there is nothing being collected behind the scenes.
If that changes — for example if we add privacy-respecting analytics — this policy will be updated first, and anything requiring consent will ask for it.
Where your data goes
Contact form submissions are delivered to our business mailbox, hosted by Microsoft 365. The website is hosted on Vercel. Both act as processors with their own security and compliance commitments. We do not sell or share personal data with anyone for marketing, and we send no marketing ourselves.
How long we keep it
Enquiry correspondence is kept for up to 24 months from our last exchange, then deleted — unless the enquiry becomes an engagement, in which case records are retained as part of the professional file for the periods our insurance and professional obligations require.
Your rights
UK GDPR gives you rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. Email us and we will deal with it promptly and without fuss.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
